Holy Moly where has the time gone! 2010 has yet to slow down for us (hence why I haven't posted in about a month) and it seems to some what be slowing down now. Well, what have we been up to?
End of March-
David got his Eagle Scout at the end of March, so I decided to take the 2 girls on an airplane ride by myself to TX. So, I am stressed out but pack everything up, Aaron takes us to the airport to check in. We get there and I MISSED MY FLIGHT!!!! Yes, you read it right, I showed up a day late, some how I just simply looked over the fact that I was flying out the day before. So, we get back in the car and we decided to drive 20 hours down to TX. I hope David knows how much we love him! The drive was long, but the girls did surprisingly well. There were only a couple breakdowns We drove all night and got to Fort Worth at 9:30 the next morning. David's ceremony went well and as you can see in the pictures, he got an autographed Taylor Swift poster that says "I think your tall socks are sexy, Love Taylor Swift". He was VERY excited and his friends were jealous they didn't get one. We got to introduce Kara to her Grandpa, Uncle David, Aunt MariKate, Uncle Michael, Aunt Stephanie, her cousins Emily and Gavin and her Great Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma got to see her healthy, happy, and most of all out of the hospital, so that was nice. We also got to meet our new nephew Gavin. He looks just like Michael and was very happy to meet him and see Emily. McKenna loves playing with her cousin and it is always nice to let them play together when we are down there. While in Fort Worth we went to the stockyards and McKenna got a pair of cowgirl boots and a stick pony, and she LOVED it. Aaron puts it best when he says, " Whoever said money can't buy happiness is lying, b/c seeing that face is pure joy." After that we said our goodbyes and headed down to Lake Jackson for Easter.
Beginning of April-
In Lake Jackson Kara was introduced to her Aunt Tina, cousin Julian, Aunt Mandy and cousin Raeyana. While in Lake Jackson we went to Nana and Grampies ranch and saw some cows and calf's. McKenna got to name one of the new calf's, and she chose the name Pinkie. She had a great time feeding the cows and running around with her cousins. We spent a lot of time running around the parks, going Easter egg hunting, and just visiting with family. Easter morning we went to church and then Nana had an Easter egg hunt ready for the grand kids. They all had a great time hunting the eggs that the Easter Bunny had hidden and eating all the candy he left behind as well. We had a great time, but all things have to come to an end. After Easter, we packed up the car and drove the long drive back. It was not as great of a drive back as it was coming. The girls had enough of the car and let us know it often. We eventually made it home and are happy we won't have to do that trip again until December!!!
We have a new housemate, Uncle Troy, and McKenna loves having him here, except when he wants her to do something, he wants to play with her, or pretty much when he wants to do anything. HOWEVER, she loves asking Uncle Troy for things and to play with her, it just can't be his idea. Kara loves having him b/c he talks to her all the time, picks her up and plays with her. We are really enjoying him being here, he is a great help and it is really nice to have family. He is getting used to the fact that this isn't TX but is starting to make a home here and setting some long term goals so that is nice.
Well that is about all on our end. Hope you enjoy the pics and hope all is well with everyone.
