Month of October

What a month! McKenna had a very busy and exciting month but she seemed to enjoy herself with all the festivities. To start the month she made daddy his birthday cake. Since we were gone for Aaron's birthday when we got back we baked him and cake and had a small get together to celebrate him turning 1 year older. McKenna insisted on baking her daddy the cake from start to finish. She helped with pouring the ingredients in to frosting and decorating the cake. As you will see from the pictures she did a great job and daddy's cake says "Happy Birthday" somewhere in all of those letters!
Aaron then decided that McKenna needed to start fishing, so we took her down to Lake Johnson, which is a beautiful city park, to catch some "big fish". She had a great time and caught 3 fish. She did really well for the first about 45 min. and through 2 fish, however with the 3rd fish and past the 45 min. she had had it and was ready to go. But again, all in all she had a good time and even got a Dora fishing pole for her birthday from a friend, so her and daddy can go fishing again.
Then we had her 2nd birthday. (please excuse the lack of pictures, we just simply dropped the ball on it, unfortunately) McKenna got a surprise for her birthday, when her Nana and Godfather Sean came in to celebrate with her. We had a great time and McKenna got some wonderful gifts and got to spend some time with her friends. She requested a Foofa (from Yo Gabba Gabba) cake, so this

is my attempt at her cake. I am taking a cake decorating class so I decided to get bold and attempt to make her cake. It was not wonderful but I enjoyed making it for her!
After her birthday and rounding out the month was Halloween and trick or treating. It was a lot of fun for all of us this year because McKenna really started to understand the concept. She had a great time dressing up and getting lots and lots of candy. On Thursdays she has been taking a dance class, so this past thursday she dressed up in her ballerina outfit she got for her birthday, went to dance class

and danced away. Later that night we took her to a Halloween event hosted by the city where she got to play games and get
candy.

Then Saturday we went to her soccer class (which she has told us she doesn't like) and then went to paint a pumpkin down at North Hills (a shopping center). We went back later on in her clown costume to trick or treat.

She got a bucket filled with candy that daddy just had to inspect to make sure it was safe!

All in all in was a great month filled with lots of celebrations and sweets. I am feeling great and can't wait to meet our new little girl. McKenna talks about her baby sister all the time and how she will hold and hug and kiss her. I have bought the girls a couple matching outfits already for next year so they will be the cutest kids on the block! Hope everyone had as great of a month as we did.

Can't believe how much she has grown. She is such a beautiful young lady now. No more "baby" for her. Hope we get to see you some time especially after the new one comes? Any names picked out or is that top secret until the time comes?
