First soccer game and first fly-in

We have had a great couple months in our new home and have started to get pretty comfy in our new house and home town. As we start getting out and about we are meeting people here and there that are our age and trying to get involved in lots of different things to aid us in meeting young families. The girls are really enjoying going to the pool almost daily, the lake if not at the pool, and the parks now that it has cooled off a bit. McKenna asks weekly about her friends Gavin and Hannah and when are we going back to see them. It breaks my heart to hear her say she misses her friends but we know down in our hearts this was the right move for us. We are very happy here thus far and am glad we have made the move. We are able to see our friends and family so much more now and we are able to drop the girls off at their grandma and papa's house so Aaron and I can run errands or go out for a couple hours by ourselves.

We signed McKenna up for dance and soccer this year and so far so good, she loves both. We were a little worried that she didn't want to play soccer because she had told my mom that it was too hot to play soccer and she was just going to be a doctor instead. Gram told her she could be a doctor and play soccer and McKenna said, "No gram it is too hot, I'm just going to be a doctor." So we signed her up anyway and she seems to like it thus far (we have only had 1 "game"). Now her dance class, she LOVES. Our community has a dance class so it is very convenient for us, we just hop on the golf cart, drop her off for an hour and Kara and I take off to the park to play. Her dance class consists of ballet, tap, and jazz, 20 min. of each. McKenna says her favorite is ballet because it is pretty. Who's child is this? She is still young so I am still holding out she will be bigger fan of soccer but time will tell, if not I guess we will start learning about the dancing world, eek. We don't have her signed up for preschool this year so we are working at home with her on all of her numbers, letters, writing, math, etc. She is really interested in learning how to read so she can read the purple princess book like her cousin Emily. We are only on sight words right now but soon enough she will be reading. She continues to surprise us daily with the things she says and does (sometimes good and bad) and we are really enjoying watching her become a little girl and great big sister to Kara. Rapunzel and Tinkerbell are her favorite characters right now and How to Train your Dragon is her movie of choice over at Papa's house. Purple is her favorite color and playing with barbies and art are her favorite things to do. She LOVES the pool and is getting more and more comfortable in the water. She is putting her head under and jumping in now! She enjoys going to the park but only if it is not too hot! She seems to deal with it a little more though if there are other children her age their. She wants to do the monkey bars so badly but she isn't quite strong enough yet, soon enough though. I do love seeing her interact with the other children and make believe with them.

Now to Kara bear. She is growing like a weed and adapting to this TX heat I think better than anyone. She LOVES LOVES LOVES to be outside and would stay out there all day if she could. Playing with her red car and McKenna's scooter are her 2 favorite things to play with outside. She also loves to push her babies in her stroller up and down the street. Wherever we go she is seen with a baby in her hand. McKenna has her giraffe and Kara has her baby! She doesn't have a specific baby she must carry, it just must be some baby. If we aren't playing at the house we are at the pool or park. She loves riding on the golf cart and looking at all the deer along the way. She screams and points to all the different deer and her little face lights up. The she sees the pool or park and her face beems again. She is a little fish in the water and loves to go under and be on her back. At the park so loves to swing and slide, unless someone else is on the slide then we get upset because it is her slide! She loves to sing and read books all day. Kara is NEVER quiet. Whenever she is playing outside, pushing her dolls, reading, etc. she is singing/humming a tune. She loves to listen to her big sister singing songs and then Kara will pick up the tune and start humming/singing along. Kara still refuses to speak, although she knows exactly what is being said to her and how to do said task. She knows all of her colors and shapes and recognizes her name spelled out as well as mom, dad, and McKenna. She knows the sounds of some of her letters and recognizes the difference between numbers and letters. So she not behind developmentally in really any aspect but talking. Oh well she will talk eventually! Kara's favorite things: outside, babies, reading, singing & Junebug.
We love our girls more and more everyday and love our decision to move back "home" to Texas. Hope all is well with everyone and excited as we are that this heat is almost done.

**side note, our community held a fly-in for everyone at the airstrip and we all really enjoyed seeing the airplanes take off and land, looking through the many different airplanes and seeing the different pilots who flew the planes.
